Young Innovators Programme

CCMB (Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology) through this program identifies talented young students and encourage them to appreciate the significance of science through this program. In this program the students are made to realize that creativity, keen interest and enthusiasm are the main components of success in science careers. 120 students from different schools of Hyderabad are called for screening test on 28th December 2017. From among the large number of students, 20 students were selected by a short test and put them in a two week hands on experience of research activity in CCMB.

Our Students SAMYAK PANDA(Grade 9A1) and  YAMAN OZA(Grade 9A3) were selected for the two week workshop(9th to 19th January, 2018).

The students carried out experiments on their own, involving the preparation and analysis of their own DNA, preparation and examination of nano particles, grow bacteria and count them, observe the developmental processes in Drosophila and zebra fish, in addition to visiting several facilities of the centre. Apart from this, they also interacted with various scientists and discussed science every day. Students were given “CCMB Young innovator” certificate at the end of the program in an interactive session.
